Russia Bans Jet Fuel Exports Until November
A government statement confirmed the restriction — which extends to jet fuel traded through commodity exchanges — will remain in force through Nov. 30.
"The goal is to ensure stability in the domestic fuel market," the statement said.
Moscow outlined a narrow set of exemptions to the blanket measure, including shipments that had already been placed under customs procedures prior to the ban's activation, as well as deliveries governed by existing intergovernmental agreements.
The move mirrors a similar step taken in April, when Russia imposed a ban on gasoline exports by domestic producers running through July 31. At the time, authorities justified the measure as necessary to maintain supply stability during a period of elevated seasonal demand, active agricultural fieldwork, and climbing global oil prices driven by geopolitical turbulence in the Middle East.
Monday's announcement signals that Moscow views the pressure on its domestic fuel supply as unresolved, with the government reaffirming its commitment to guaranteeing a "reliable and uninterrupted supply of fuel to the domestic market."
The latest restriction comes as global energy markets remain on edge, with ongoing instability across the Middle East continuing to inject volatility into oil and fuel prices worldwide.
